Craft on Draft is a reading series created and managed by alumni of GrubStreet's Novel Incubator program and devoted to great fiction—and the mechanics behind it. Three authors read and discuss their work, plus that of one lucky audience member. So grab a drink, a page of your own writing, and come craft your own draft.

Why does our city need another reading series?

Boston is the literary Hub of the Universe, with more readers and writers per capita than the rest of the Universe.

What does drinking, eating, and having a night out together teach us about writing?

Everything. Or Nothing. Depends on you, our guests.

How is Craft on Draft different?

Each reading will focus on an element of writing craft. You, our guests, will learn along with us and earn valuable praise and prizes along the way. Prizes subject to availability. Batteries not included.

Who started Craft on Draft?

We are women and men, old, young, rich in spirit, poorer for not knowing you yet, teachers and students, artists and business folk, bankers and bakers and documentary film makers. Enriched by Novel Incubator, a unique novel revision program developed by GrubStreet, we are authors eager to meet like-minded readers and writers in a fun and stimulating environment.

So come–whether your favorite drink is Guinness or Diet Coke–and join us for an evening of learning, living, and “libating.”
